Cryptographic Engineer Rob Lambert joined Certicom in 1996. Rob has lead teams developing Certicom's core cryptographic toolkits, as well as efficient embedded crypto and HW. He has developed algorithms and lead implementation efforts for smartcards, ePassport and embedded security products, used for example in ZigBee devices. Rob obtained a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo. His Ph.D. thesis examined the solution of the sparse linear systems over prime fields obtained from the index calculus methods of discrete logarithm calculation, deriving efficient non-heuristic methods. Rob's interests include efficient algorithms and implementation for embedded and low-power devices, hardware implementation, side-channel and fault analysis, and efficient cryptography.
